Earley Gaynor
CBO and Board Member of ASQUI Ventures
The music industry is an ever changing
environment not for the weak of heart. This industry tests even the brightest
of business minds, but when the smoke clears only the best survive – one of
these few is Earl ”The Record Guru” Gaynor.
Gaynor is a music industry veteran known
for finding and developing artists into multi-platinum stars. Gaynor’s two
decade career includes over 18 million records sold and an incredible fifteen
major record deals closed. Gaynor develops a unique business strategy for every
project supported by his knowledge in marketing, Internet marketing, radio
promotions, and production experience. “My passion is helping people and
developing their projects to its full potential” added Gaynor “I have
never taken on a project that did not at least get signed or funded by one of
my investor partners to take the project to the next level. Although, most
projects got signed to a major record label or distributor”.
“Music is my ministry” says
Gaynor. “I studied for ten years with Holy Tabernacle and received my doctrine
in divinity. Im also the founder of The Universal Order of the Sons of God and
the Elohiym Essene Church of Christ”.
In 1994 Gaynor signed a deal with
his first rap group known as “The Lox” to Hall of Fame/Sony Music Group, which
Gaynor later closed the deal with hip-hop mogul Sean “P. Diddy” Combs. The Lox
have combined sales to date of over 10 million records sold, several solo
albums, and countless feature songs with the biggest celebrities in the world -
including Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and Tupac Shakur. Gaynor closed his second
deal with P. Diddy for a female artist/ named Tammy Ruggedi who appeared on P
Diddy’s single “I Need a Girl Remix” which sold over 2 million copies and the
album sold 1.5 million. Gaynor’s even broke into the movie business by closing
a deal for NY Confidential on the Romeo Must Die soundtrack, which sold 3
million records. Closed record deals started having a domino effect for Gaynor
as he landed deal after deal with an A-list of music movers and shakers
including Interscope Records chairmen Jimmy Iovene, super producer Timbaland,
Chris Schwartz from Ruff Nation/Epic Records, P. Diddy, Adam Leavy, and Antonio
”L.A.” Reid (La Face Records/Arista). “Closing all these record deals has
giving me the network base to practically do anything or work with anyone my
clients desire,” said Gaynor “Networking is key in this industry.”
In addition to finding and developing
talent, Gaynor also is a multi-platinum producer. Some of his credits include
“In My Life” off Nelly’s Suit featuring hip-hop super stars Nelly, Mase, and
Avery Storm which sold more than 5 million records to date. Other Gaynor
production credits include Chub Rock, MC Nazel on select records, and the
executive producer on “The Olympx” album released on Adam Leavy's label.
Past projects Gaynor worked on
include music director and VP of operations for Northstar Management Inc.
which include Miami based recording artist Ghostwridah and Black Lyon Music
Group, RnB singer Emanny Salgado, developing Sixteen Bars with a Star online
contest/reality show, and developing www.therecordguru.com.
As Gaynor embarks upon his new journey with ASQUI Ventures as Chief Branding Officer, the stakes are high and he is willing to go the distance. Watch what he does as the curtains unfold.
