Margarita “La Perla” Duran - Dominican singer and writer is one of New York's finest rising stars who is building her reputation as an explosive muse, known and loved by many for her amazing beauty and charisma.  With her soon to be released single “Salgo pa la calle”, La Perla positions herself to be the new voice of Latin-Community with her unique twist on stadium music.  Experimenting with the fusion of acoustic drums and dance music with a touch of synthetics makes for an electrifying experience.  She is setting the stage to be next in line following the likes of Latin recording artists Shakira, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez.

La Perla was introduced to the music industry in 2002 when she moved to New York City seeking better opportunities.  She worked atUrban Box Office, (the place that open the doors to Latin producer Manuel Alejandro “Boy Wonder” Ruiz), where she gained experience working on various projects such as Don Omar “Regueton Latino”.  She also worked with another Dominican Mastermind and a lover of music, Rayroq Acosta who is responsible for successfully co-launching and marketing the TV show Latinflava.  La Perla’s long term friend and mentor Grammy-winning Hip Hop/R&B record producer, Easy Mo Bee - born Osten Harvey, Jr most notable for his production for Bad Boy Records, provided support and guidence through her career.  La Perla recalls, “If it wasn’t for Mo Bee’s advise, I really wouldn’t know where I would of been right now.”

Eventually, La Perla was introduced to Marc Ecko who exposed her to fashion and philanthropy through his company Sweat Equity Enterprises.  During this period, she became a master in networking which enabled her to build a great circle of musicians, artists, and executives in both the industries of fashion and music. 

One of her latest work was a TV Commercial for McDonald's “2x$3” which aired on Telemundo and Univision networks. La Perla, however, will always remain loyal and true to her Dominican roots and Latin people, but will invite many others to join her party.  Now, the phenomenon known as La Perla is ready to expand in the market.
